Chicago Blackhawks: Best Addition & Worst Subtraction of 2023 Offseason

The 2023-24 regular season is rapidly approaching, much to the delight of hockey fans. Due to this, we here at NHLTR are starting a series going over each team's best addition and worst subtraction of the summer.

In this latest edition, let's look at the Chicago Blackhawks.

Best Addition: Connor Bedard

The Chicago Blackhawks brought in some notable names this offseason like Taylor Hall, Nick Foligno, and Corey Perry. However, none of them compare to generational prospect Connor Bedard. He is expected to be a high-impact player immediately and will be the face of franchise for years to come.

Worst Subtraction: Jonathan Toews

One franchise player in, another franchise player out. Jonathan Toews is the most notable offseason departure from the Blackhawks. The Blackhawks opted not to bring back their longtime captain, and he is currently taking a break from hockey to focus on his health. Still, his absence will be noticeable, as he is one of the franchise's best.
