Dany Heatley Finds New NHL Home

Dany Heatley is once again employed by an NHL team. The Philadelphia Flyers have hired the former All-Star as a pro scout.

This is a bit of a surprising hiring, but it also has the potential to be a pretty good one. After all, Heatley played over a decade in the NHL and put together an excellent career in the process. Due to this, he should not have too much trouble scouting talent.

This position is believed to be Heatley's first off-ice NHL job since ending his professional career.

Heatley played in 869 career NHL games over 13 seasons split between the Atlanta Thrashers, Ottawa Senators, San Jose Sharks, Minnesota Wild, and Anaheim Ducks, posting 372 goals, 419 assists, and 791 points.

Overall, this is a low-risk hiring by the Flyers, and it will be intriguing to see how much of an impact Heatley makes while holding the position from here.
