Flames Rumors: Latest on Elias Lindholm Extension Talks

In a recent interview with Sweden's Hockeysverige, Calgary Flames star forward Elias Lindholm was asked about if he is open to an extension with the team. Lindholm responded saying "I am willing to stay. My agent and Calgary will handle most of it. There's a lot we have to agree on, but I've said that I can consider staying."

Lindholm has been the subject of trade rumors for much of this summer. This is because he is entering the final season of his contract, but with this latest update, it is clear that he is at least open to the prospect of signing an extension with the Flames.

Lindholm is due for a big raise, as he has become an elite two-way forward over the years. In 80 games last season with the Flames, he posted 22 goals to go along with 64 points and a plus-6 rating.

We will need to wait and see if a new deal between Lindholm and the Flames comes to fruition from here.
