Free Agent Patrick Kane Spotted in Toronto

Patrick Kane is still at least one month away from a potential return but that doesn't mean he's not turning heads of late. Kane was spotted in Toronto doing some training, which of course has Leafs Nation at the edge of their seats.

The fact is Kane isn't likely signing with the Maple Leafs as the team doesn't have any cap space to make that happen. However, one team close to Toronto does, and that's the Buffalo Sabres. Look for Kane to have interest from the Sabres and Detroit Red Wings once he's advancing in contract talks. For now it just sounds like he's trying to get his repaired hip(s) back to 100%.

If Kane is healthy, even at 34 years old he's still a game changer. While he battled through injuries last season split between the Chicago Blackhawks and New York Rangers, the Stanley Cup champion recorded 57 points in 73 games. Two seasons ago he put up 92 points in 78 games; there's still lots left in the tank.

While a return to Chicago does not appear to be in the cards, some other team's to consider who have the cap space to add Kane are the Anaheim Ducks, Sabres, Red Wings, Nashville Predators, and Columbus Blue Jackets.

Look for Kane to announce his new team sometime in November.
