Josh Leivo Finds New Home

Veteran forward Josh Leivo has found a new home, signing a one-year contract with Salavat Yulaev Ufa of the KHL.

There were reports earlier this month that Leivo and the Swedish Hockey League's (SHL) MoDo Hockey were close on a deal. However, Leivo will instead be playing in the KHL this season following this latest development.

Leivo, 30, appeared in 51 games last season with the St. Louis Blues, posting four goals and 16 points. Overall, he was a decent depth forward when called upon by the Blues last season, but it did not result in him finding an NHL home this summer. Now, he is heading overseas, where he should be a big part of the Salavat's roster.

In 265 career NHL games over his 10-year career, Leivo has 42 goals, 51 assists, and 93 points. It will be interesting to see how well he performs in the KHL this season from here.
