Keith Kinkaid Signs With Former Team
The New Jersey Devils have signed goaltender Keith Kinkaid to a one-year, two-way contract. He will make $775,000 at the NHL level and $350,000 in the AHL.
Kinkaid, 34, played his first six seasons in the NHL with the Devils. Since then, he has had stops with the Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, Boston Bruins, and Colorado Avalanche. Now, he is back where it all began.
Kinkaid is unlikely to challenge for an NHL spot on the Devils, but he will serve as a solid call-up option if injuries arise during the season. This is a role that he has had over the last handful of seasons.
In 169 career NHL games over 10 seasons, Kinkaid sports a 70-58-21 record, a .905 save percentage (SV%), and a 2.91 goals-against average (GAA).
It is always good to have insurance in the net, and the Devils have added some with this Kinkaid addition.
