Longtime Islander Josh Bailey Signs PTO With Atlantic Team
Josh Bailey will need to earn a contract at training camp, as the veteran winger has signed a professional tryout with the Ottawa Senators.
Bailey, 33, was bought out by the New York Islanders before free agency began after 15 seasons with the team. He is coming off of a bit of a down year, posting eight goals and 25 points in 64 games.
However, during the 2021-22 season, Bailey posted 44 points in 74 games, so he certainly could be a bounce-back candidate heading into the new season. Yet, for him to have any chance of doing that, he will need to impress the Senators at camp and earn himself a contract.
If signed, Bailey would also give the Senators another grizzled veteran to help mentor their younger players.
Alas, we will need to wait and see if Bailey can earn himself a contract with the Senators from here.
