NHL Rumors: New Team Linked to Patrick Kane

According to the Daily Herald's John Dietz, someone who knows Patrick Kane well said that Kane informed him that he wanted to reunite with Alex DeBrincat when the opportunity presented itself. Thus, the Detroit Red Wings are emerging as a possible landing spot for Kane.

Kane is the top free agent still available for the taking. He has not made a decision about his next home yet, as he is focusing on his recovery from offseason hip surgery. Yet, he recently said that he is back to skating and feeling healthy, so perhaps a decision could be on the way shortly.

With this report from Dietz, it will be interesting to see if the Red Wings end up making a push for Kane. They still have plenty of cap space to work with, and there is no denying that he had excellent chemistry with DeBrincat during their days as Chicago Blackhawks.
