NHL Rumors: Sharks & Canucks Discussed One-for-One Trade
The San Jose Sharks and Vancouver Canucks have discussed the parameters of a trade these past couple of months and it sounds like one was very close to being finalized.
According to hockey insider Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, the Sharks and Canucks have discussed a swap of Tyler Myers for Kevin Labanc. From the sounds of it the Canucks were the ones who weren't comfortable enough to pull the trigger.
According to Seravalli on S&P, the Tyler Myers for SJS Kevin LeBanc trade would have been straight up. But seems like #Canucks scratched that trade for the possibility that if their season goes south, they can trade Myers at the deadline themselves.

Myers is someone who will be dealt for sure this season, it's just a matter of time. The towering defenseman hasn't put up the numbers he was supposed to in Vancouver and the patience has been wearing thin on management for a few seasons now.
Labanc on the other hand started his career off hot in San Jose and it's certainly fizzled out of late. The former sixth-round pick posted 33 points in 72 games last season and his career best season of 56 points came back in 2018-19.
Both players are unrestricted free agents at season's end and will be among trade watch list throughout the season as the Sharks are rebuilding and will be moving out assets before the trade deadline and the Canucks are on the brink of making huge roster changes if things don't go to plan this season.
