Rangers' Mika Zibanejad Leaves Practice With Injury
During practice on Sunday (Sep. 23), New York Rangers star forward Mika Zibanejad left the ice early, holding his right arm. Arthur Staple later reported that Zibanejad has suffered an upper-body injury and is currently listed as day-to-day.
Zibanejad, 30, is the Rangers' top center, so they naturally are hoping that this latest injury does not end up being more serious and he recovers on schedule. This will be something that hockey fans will need to pay close attention to during camp from here.
If Zibanejad's recovery takes longer than expected, the one plus side is that the Rangers have excellent center depth. Second-line center candidates Vincent Trocheck and Filip Chytil would be able to carry the slack if Zibanejad, for some reason, has to miss more time than expected.
Here's to hoping that Zibanejad has a speedy recovery and is set to go before the start of the 2023-24 season from here.
