Anaheim Ducks Finally Get Trevor Zegras Signed

The Anaheim Ducks have finally come to a mutual agreement with their young center Trevor Zegras and signed him to a three-year, $5.75 million AAV deal.

Zegras has played two full seasons in the NHL and is the Ducks' current number one center. He tied for the team lead in goals (23) last season and led the last place Ducks in points (65). He is set to be even better this season with another year of experience under his belt and the team around him better as well.

This is a fairly low cap hit for Zegras considering what he has done and will continue to do for the young Ducks team that is going through a rebuild. This is very much a prove it deal where he should get a big long-term extension afterwards. Whether it is with the Ducks or another team remains to be seen. Anaheim still has over $10 million in cap space to work with.
