Bad Break For Sabres Goalie Eric Comrie

The Buffalo Sabres first lost starting goalie Devon Levi to injury, now have also lost their backup Eric Comrie, who is now out "week-to-week."

Sabres GM Kevyn Adams made the announcement of Comrie's timeline, and the team has now recalled Devin Cooley from Rochester of the AHL, who will serve as backup to Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen on Sunday against the Colorado Avalanche.

Comrie left Friday night's game against the New Jersey Devils in the 2nd period to a lower-body injury that came after making a pad save on a rebound.

He slumped over in pain in his crease after the play.

Luukkonen replaced Comrie for the rest of the game, which they lost 5-4.

It's an especially tough break for Comrie, who, in three starts since replacing Levi, had been very strong between the pipes, with a 2.45 GAA and a .914 save percentage, and certainly was earning a look for more starts even after Levi returned.

As for Levi, the opening night starter, he's only skated once in the last nine days since going down to injury, and is listed as day-to-day. But he is expected to rejoin the Sabres for practice on Tuesday.
