Blackhawks Rumors: 2 Potential Landing Spots for Tyler Johnson

Chicago Blackhawks forward Tyler Johnson has been picking up some chatter in the rumor mill. When noting that Chicago is rebuilding and Johnson is a veteran on an expiring deal, it makes sense. Let’s go over two clubs who could target him now.

New York Islanders: The New York Islanders need more production in their top nine, so they could consider bringing in Johnson. He would be a fit on their third line and fit in nicely on their power play. With that, he would give them more experience as they look to make the playoffs in 2023-24.

Tampa Bay Lightning: Johnson’s former team, the Tampa Bay Lightning, could also target him near the deadline if Chicago retains some of his cap hit. Their middle six could use a boost after their summer departures, and it does not hurt that they know Johnson very well.

Let’s see if either of these clubs end up bringing in Johnson before the season is over from here.
