Blue Jackets Lose Liam Foudy Through Waivers

Liam Foudy's time with the Columbus Blue Jackets is officially over, as the 2018 first-round pick has been claimed off of waivers by the Nashville Predators.

When it was announced that Foudy was hitting the waiver wire, it seemed likely that a team would scoop him up. He is a former first-round pick, after all, and he is still only 23 years old. The Preds will be hoping that this change of scenery helps Foudy take that next step forward. When looking at their current roster, he should be a regular in their lineup.

Foudy appeared in a career-high 62 games last season with the Blue Jackets, posting seven goals and 14 points. He also appeared in one game for the Blue Jackets this year, where he was held off the scoresheet.

It will be intriguing to see how well Foudy fits in with the Preds from here. Here's to hoping that this fresh start is what he needs to take another step closer to reaching his full potential.
