Blue Jackets Place Forward On Waivers, Activate Another

The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed Eric Robinson on waivers. With that, they have activated winger Mathieu Olivier off injured reserve, and he is set to make his season debut.

Robinson, 28, played in one game this season for the Blue Jackets, where he had zero points and a minus-1 rating. The 6-foot-2 winger played in 72 games last season for the Blue Jackets, where he had 12 goals to go along with 24 points and a minus-21 rating.

Robinson's waiver placement is due to Olivier being ready to get back into action. The 6-foot-1 forward emerged as a solid bottom-six option for the Blue Jackets last season, posting five goals and 15 points in 66 games. Yet, he notably provided plenty of physicality, as he had 178 hits and 81 penalty minutes.

Overall, the Blue Jackets are adding more grit to their lineup with Olivier back. We will need to wait and see if Robinson ends up getting claimed off waivers from here.
