Blues Rumors: Jakub Vrana Becoming Trade Candidate

The St. Louis Blues have not gotten much offense this season and are 3-3-1 on the season. While the goaltending is playing better than expected, it is bound to start to falter and the team will struggle. In an attempt to change things up, Jakub Vrana has been scratched for two of the seven games this season despite recording one goal and three points. That is good enough to have him tied for second on the team in points.

The Blues are a much different team than they were at the beginning of last season and they even made a couple of moves to try to stay competitive. This hasn't worked out for them and they seem destined to be a middle-of-the-pack team, both missing the playoffs and not getting a top-five pick in the draft.

There doesn't seem like much they can do to clear the big contracts from their roster, but if they do decide to sell again this season, Vrana is at the top of the list of names. I wouldn't at all be surprised if he is dealt beforehand to a team that is looking for some scoring from the middle of their lineup. His cap hit is cheap, especially if some money is retained, and he has proven time and time again that he can score, despite everything else that has gone on in his career.
