Bruins Place Ian Mitchell On Waivers, Sign Prospect
The Boston Bruins have placed defenseman Ian Mitchell on waivers. With that, the Bruins have also signed Jackson Edward to an entry-level contract.
Mitchell made the Bruins' opening night roster over defensemen like Mason Lohrei and Jakub Zboril. He has appeared in two games for Boston since, posting one assist and a plus-1 rating. However, this was not enough for the offseason addition to stick with the NHL roster, and now he can be claimed because of it. Given the fact that he is only 24 years old, don't be surprised if he gets snatched up.
As for Edward, the Bruins drafted Edward in the seventh round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-2 defenseman has two goals and six points in 10 games thus far with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Last season, he had 25 points and 110 penalty minutes with the Knights.
