A suspension for McAvoy was expected, as the star defenseman threw an illegal check to the head on Florida Panthers defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson and received a match penalty for it in their last contest. Now, McAvoy has been given his punishment, and it is certainly a pretty big one for the 2016 first-round pick.
The Bruins also lost defenseman Matt Grzelcyk to an upper-body injury against the Cats, and he is set to miss the next couple weeks. Thus, the Bruins will be without their top pairing and will be forced to make some adjustments and call-ups.
Do you feel that this suspension was the right call? Do you think he should have gotten more or less games? Let your thoughts be heard in the comments.
