Buffalo Sabres to Scratch Top Trade Candidate

Victor Olofsson has been the subject of trade rumors since last season. It appears that things are not getting any better for him with the Buffalo Sabres this season, as head coach Don Granato told reporters that Olofsson will be a healthy scratch for their game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Olofsson has had a slow start to the 2023-24 season, as he has zero points and a minus-2 rating. Due to this, it is understandable that the Sabres are giving him the night off, while inserting Tyson Jost into the lineup.

Olofsson had a career-high 28 goals last season to go along with 40 points in 75 games. When playing at his best, he is a decent middle-six scoring forward and useful on the power play.

We will now need to wait and see how long Olofsson ends up sitting out from here. If Jost performs well, perhaps he could be a healthy scratch for more than just this contest.
