Canadiens Get Hit With 2 More Untimely Injuries
The Montreal Canadiens received less than ideal news about Kirby Dach and his timetable to return, but on top of that, they also have to navigate two more injuries within their organization. Thankfully, it doesn't directly impact them right now other than the fact that one of the players could have been a callup with Dach coming out of the lineup.
Both David Reinbacher and Emil Heineman have suffered injuries when one needs every bit of development and the other almost made the Canadiens out of training camp and could've been called up.
Heineman suffered a serious upper-body injury, and with a spot opening up on the Canadiens for a while, he could have been given a chance. There are others that would have also been competing with him for a chance to be called up, but he was set for a big step this season and definitely some time in the NHL at one point.
Reinbacher suffered a lower-body injury, but unlike Dach and Heineman, it wasn't as serious. He is overseas playing in the National League this season as he can't yet play in the NHL. The 2023 fifth round pick is a big piece of the Canadiens' future and the hope is that he is back in the lineup and continuing his development soon.
