Canadiens Rumors: 2 Teams Who Could Take On Joel Armia's Contract
Joel Armia is currently being shopped by the Montreal Canadiens, but a major obstacle in trade talks is his $3.4 million cap hit until the end of the 2024-25 season. Any trade involving the winger will either require the Habs to add a sweetener or two or to take on another bad contract. Let's discuss two teams who could consider bringing in Armia now.
Chicago Blackhawks: The Blackhawks have not been afraid to bring in players on bad contracts since beginning their rebuild. It makes sense, as the sweeteners have been beneficial for them already. Due to this, they certainly could be in the mix for a player like Armia. He would fit pretty well in their bottom six and give them another experienced forward for their young guns.
San Jose Sharks: It would not be too surprising to see the Sharks be open to the prospect of taking on Armia's contract, either. They are in a true rebuild and could use more draft and/or another prospect. Thus, San Jose could make sense as a landing spot for Armia.
