Carolina Hurricanes Call Up Pyotr Kochetkov

The Carolina Hurricanes have called up goalie Pyotr Kochetkov to their NHL roster.

This Kochetkkov call-up comes one day after Frederik Andersen left his last start to the San Jose Sharks early. At the time of this writing, an update on Andersen has not been provided by the club, but this could be an indicator that the veteran netminder may end up being sidelined.

Kotchetkov has been playing this season in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Syracuse Crunch, the Tampa Bay Lightning's affiliate. The Canes currently do not have an AHL team, so they have been loaning their players to other clubs.

Kotchetov has a bright future and will be looking to impress while with the Hurricanes during this call-up, if he ends up getting put into any contests, of course. We will need to wait and see if he can make an impact for the Canes from here.
