Chicago Blackhawks: 3 Trade Targets for 2023-24 Season

The 2023-24 season is almost here. As a result, we here at NHLTR are starting a series discussing three trade targets that each team should consider looking at during the campaign.

In this first edition of the series, let's focus on the Chicago Blackhawks.

Matt Grzelcyk: The Blackhawks need to improve the left side of their defensive group. As a result, perhaps Boston Bruins defenseman Matt Grzelcyk could make sense for them. He has been in the rumor mill since this offseason, and he would reunite with former Bruins Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno.

Dan Vladar: The Blackhawks' goaltending is looking quite weak heading into the new season. With the Calgary Flames having a surplus of netminders, Dan Vladar could make sense as a trade target. He would give them a better option for their starting goalie if acquired.

Conor Garland: The Vancouver Canucks have shopped Conor Garland, as they have a surplus of wingers. When noting that he carries a pretty high salary, the Blackhawks would likely be able to snag him for not much of anything. With that, he would serve as a solid addition to their top six and power play.
