Coyotes' Jason Zucker Out, 2 Players Called Up

The Arizona Coyotes will be without one of their top forwards for the next little bit, as winger Jason Zucker is out week-to-week with a lower-body injury. In response to this news, the Yotes have called up forwards Jan Jenik and Zach Sanford.

Zucker inked a one-year pact with the Coyotes this offseason. In five games with the Desert Dogs this season, he has two goals and a plus-1 rating. This is not ideal news for a Coyotes team looking to build off their solid start, but now they will need to adjust without Zucker.

Jenik will be aiming to impress during this call-up. The young forward reportedly wanted out of Arizona during the offseason due to limited chances at the NHL level. This is his chance to prove that he belongs with the NHL squad.

As for Sanford, he spent some of last season with the Nashville Predators, posting one goal and one assist in 16 games. He will be aiming to impress and show that he can still be an NHL-caliber player.
