Florida Panthers: Best Addition & Worst Subtraction of 2023 Offseason

The 2023-24 regular season is rapidly approaching, much to the delight of hockey fans. Due to this, we here at NHLTR are starting a series going over each team's best addition and worst subtraction of the summer.

In this edition of the series, let's look at the Florida Panthers.

Best Addition: Oliver Ekman-Larsson

After a brutal tenure with the Vancouver Canucks, Oliver Ekman-Larsson was bought out by the team. Now, the former star defenseman will be looking to bounce back with the Panthers. When noting that Florida got him at an affordable price, he could be a big addition to their roster if he turns things back around. He is expected to play in their top four and be a key contributor to their power play.

Worst Subtraction: Anthony Duclair

Due to their salary cap trouble, the Panthers traded Anthony Duclair in a salary dump move to the San Jose Sharks. Although Duclair had some down moments during his time with the Panthers, he was a solid middle-six forward for them and produced well offensively. As a result, the Panthers may end up missing him this season.
