Florida Panthers Make Decision With Spencer Knight
The Florida Panthers have assigned goaltender Spencer Knight to the American Hockey League (AHL). He will start the season with the Charlotte Checkers.
Knight's 2022-23 season ended early, as the young goaltender entered the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program to get help with managing his obsessive compulsive disorder.
The Panthers have made this move to allow Knight to get into games consistently for the beginning portion of the season. As a result, there is a good chance that we will see Knight called back up to the NHL squad as the year rolls along.
Knight, 22, appeared in 21 games last season with the Panthers, posting a 9-8-3 record, a .901 SV%, and a .901 SV%.
With this decision, the Panthers will start the season with Sergei Bobrovsky and Anthony Stolarz as their goaltenders.
