Habs' Savard Out Indefinitely After Insane, Heroic Penalty-Kill Shift
It was one of the most heroic penalty-kills you'll ever see—the Montreal Canadiens David Savard lost his stick, even lost his skate blade, could barely stand or move, yet blocked several shots, and put his body on the line time and time again in a furious minute of action in front of his team's net.

Unfortunately, the price of that insane effort is an upper-body injury that will now keep him out indefinitely.
Montreal announces David Savard — injured last night — is out indefinitely with an upper-body injury. Gustav Lindstrom up from AHL Laval on an emergency basis.

This angle of him being shuttled off the ice by teammates while kneeling on one leg will be an enduring vision for this Canadiens season.

The Canadiens have recalled defenseman Gustav Lindström from the Laval Rocket on an emergency basis.
Savard, already owning a legendary name for a Montreal defenceman, now goes into Habs' lore for this most heroic PK.
He has two assists in five games with a plus-2 rating so far this season.
