Jets Rumors: 2 Potential Landing Spots for Nate Schmidt

After an early-season healthy scratch, Nate Schmidt has been picking up some steam in the rumor mill. The left-shot defenseman could use a change of scenery, and let's look at two teams who could consider bringing in the Minnesota native.

Chicago Blackhawks: The Blackhawks need help on their blueline, so they could look at a player like Schmidt. This is especially so if the Jets add on a sweetener or two for Chicago taking on his contract. He would be a fit on their second pairing and work nicely on their power play if acquired.

Philadelphia Flyers: The Flyers are also in a position to take on an expensive deal for added assets. They have not been afraid to do that since officially beginning their rebuild, and Schmidt certainly would make sense as a player to target in this scenario because of it. With that, if he turns things back around in a potential move, he would become a decent trade asset for Philly later down the road.
