Jujhar Khaira & Others Placed On Waivers

With the regular season quickly approaching, teams are cutting down their rosters, leading to several waiver placements. Down below is the latest group of players to hit the waiver wire.

Placed on NHL waivers today: Robert Hagg (ANA), Colton White (ANA), Jayson Megna (BOS), Brett Murray (BUF), Jujhar Khaira (MIN), Vinni Lettieri (MIN), Dakota Mermis (MIN), Nic Petan (MIN), Cal Foote (NJ), Mark Jankowski (NSH), Leon Gawanke (SJ) and Jeffrey Truchon-Viel (WPG).

Out of this group, Khaira is the most notable. The Minnesota Wild signed him earlier this offseason, but the bottom-six forward did not make the cut. Teams looking for a bit more experience and grit for their bottom six could take a flier on him.

Robert Hagg is another intriguing name to see hit the waiver wire. He has shown that he can be a decent depth defenseman at the NHL level, so teams needing some help on the blue line could consider claiming him from the Anaheim Ducks.

Cal Foote could also grab some attention. He is a former first-round pick who may still have the potential to at least be a bottom-pairing defenseman at the NHL level.
