Lightning's Steven Stamkos Sidelined With Injury
The Tampa Bay Lightning have been dealt more bad injury news, as captain Steven Stamkos is out for their game against the Ottawa Senators with a lower-body injury. At this juncture, he is labeled as day-to-day.
This is not ideal news for the Lightning, even if this injury is expected to be short. Stamkos is one of the Lightning's top players, and they are trying to get the season off on the right foot. With that, they already have Andrei Vasilevskiy out, so losing Stamkos is certainly a tough blow.
Stamkos has been off to a very hot start this season, too, as he has two goals and four points in two games. However, his injury will now put his hot streak on pause.
The Lightning will be hoping that Stamkos' recovery goes as quickly as expected and that he can jump back into action shortly. Every win matters right now, and Stamkos always gives them a good chance of doing just that when he's on the ice.
