Maple Leafs' Jake McCabe Receives Positive Injury Update
Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe left the club's game against the Dallas Stars earlier this week with a groin injury. Although there was concern that this could sideline him for a good amount of time, head coach Sheldon Keefe told reporters that McCabe's MRI showed the "best-case scenario" and that he will be back "before too long."
McCabe is a key part of the Leafs' defensive group, so hearing that he should be back in the near future is great news. This is especially so with Conor Timmins sidelined and Timothy Liljegren getting injured against the Nashville Predators last night (Oct. 28).
Although McCabe has had a bit of a tough start to the season, he is defensively sound when playing at his best and a notable part of the penalty kill. Due to this, the Maple Leafs have been given some good news with this McCabe update. Let's see how much longer he ends up being out from here.
