Maple Leafs' Timothy Liljegren Leaves Game With Injury
For the second game in a row, the Toronto Maple Leafs lost a defenseman early to injury, this time being young d-man Timothy Liljegren. The 2017 first-round pick left the contest after being hit by Nashville Predators forward Yakov Trenin.
The Maple Leafs have had some injury trouble on their blue line, as Liljegren joins Jake McCabe and Conor Timmins as their injured defensemen. At this time, it has not been confirmed that Liljegren will miss time, but there is natural concern given his early exit.
Liljegren has played in eight games this season with the Maple Leafs, where he has one assist to go along with an even plus/minus rating. Overall, it has been a fairly quiet start to the year for him in terms of offense, but he has had some decent moments defensively.
We will need to wait and see if Liljegren will need to miss time from here.
