Minnesota Wild Make Roster Moves
The Minnesota Wild have placed defenseman Alex Goligoski on long-term injured reserve (LTIR). With that, they have called up Sammy Walker to the NHL roster.
This LTIR placement means that Goligoski will be sidelined for at least 10 games and 24 days. This is not the best news, as the Wild already have Jared Spurgeon on their defensive group. With that, Matthew Boldy is also sidelined. As a result, the injury bug is clearly hitting the Wild.
Walker will now be looking to impress with the Wild during this call-up. He has had plenty of success at the AHL level and has emerged as a key part of their roster because of it. Now, let’s see how much of an impact he can make for the Wild.
Alas, here’s to hoping that Goligoski has a speedy recovery, while Walker produces well during his latest call-up to the show with the Wild.
