Montreal Canadiens: Best Addition & Worst Subtraction of 2023 Offseason
The 2023-24 regular season is rapidly approaching, much to the delight of hockey fans. Due to this, we here at NHLTR are starting a series going over each team's best addition and worst subtraction of the summer.
In this latest edition of the series, we will be looking at the Montreal Canadiens.
Best Addition: Alex Newhook
The Canadiens made a notable addition when they landed Alex Newhook from the Colorado Avalanche. The young forward has yet to emerge as a top-six forward, but he has plenty of potential to. Perhaps this change of scenery will be the push he needs to do just that with the Canadiens.
Worst Subtraction: Mike Hoffman
Although Mike Hoffman’s production fell off a bit with the Canadiens, he is still their most notable subtraction. Players like Jeff Petry and Casey DeSmith were traded by the Canadiens, too, but they were not on last season’s roster, so they don’t qualify for this list.
