NHL Rumors: Columbus Blue Jackets Have Been Making Trade Offers

The Columbus Blue Jackets have been through the ringer this offseason and their fan base is looking forward to seeing what the on-ice product will look like come opening night. Turns out the roster could be seeing some changes as management has been quite busy these past few days working the phones.

As hockey insider Frank Seravalli points out, the Blue Jackets are flexible with who they move, it all depends on what's coming back in return.

Blue Jackets defensemen who certainly won't be moved include Zach Werenski, Erik Gudbranson, Ivan Provorov and Damon Severson. Columbus blueliners in play include Adam Boqvist, Jake Bean, Tim Berni and Andrew Peeke.

The Blue Jackets currently have $3 million in cap space available for use. It's likely the team is trying to add some depth on the wing and someone who is flexible/versatile enough to fill in at centre should an injury take place. Columbus is full of young talent, they just haven't proved very much yet.

While Toronto and Vancouver have been busy making deals lately, turns out Columbus could be next. Now that Mike Babcock isn't there, a trade to the Blue Jackets will be much easier to swallow.
