Oilers' Connor McDavid Inching Closer to Return

Exciting news out of Edmonton, as Oilers superstar forward Connor McDavid returned to practice. With that, there is a greater chance that he will be good to go for their Heritage Classic contest against the Calgary Flames.

McDavid has been sidelined due to injury, but he notably practiced with the Oilers' top six. Due to this, it appears that he is inching closer to being ready to return to action, at a minimum. Even if he ends up being ruled out for their contest against the Flames, this return to practice shows that he should return very shortly at a minimum.

The Oilers have been off to a brutal start, so it is huge that McDavid seems to be ahead of schedule with his estimated recovery time. The Oilers need him in their lineup if they hope to turn this ship around, as he is the game's best.

We will now need to wait and see what happens with McDavid from here.
