Ottawa Senators Make Decision With Josh Bailey

The Ottawa Senators have released forward Josh Bailey from his professional tryout (PTO) contract.
After being traded to the Chicago Blackhawks and immediately bought out, Bailey was unable to land a contract during the summer. Due to this, the longtime New York Islander settled for a PTO with the Senators. However, we now have confirmation that it will not lead to a contract.

Bailey, 34, will now be looking to get a deal elsewhere. The 2008 ninth-overall pick has only played in the regular season for the Islanders. In 1,057 career NHL games, he has 184 goals to go along with 580 points. With that, he posted eight goals and 25 points in 64 games played last season.

We will need to wait and see what is in store for Bailey from here. Teams needing some depth could consider bringing him in, but time will tell what happens on that front.
