Panthers Lose Grigori Denisenko Through Waivers
The Vegas Golden Knights have claimed Grigori Denisenko off of waivers from the Florida Panthers.
Denisenko, 23, was once one of the Panthers' top prospects, as they selected him with the 15th overall pick of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. However, he has yet to blossom into a full-time NHL player at this point of his career. Now he will be looking to change that with the Golden Knights from here.
Denisenko appeared in 18 games last season for the Panthers, where he had three assists and a minus-5 rating. He also had 12 goals and 36 points in 56 games with the Charlotte Checkers.
Overall, there is no harm with this waiver claim by the Golden Knights. They are taking a chance on a former top prospect in Denisenko. If he finds his footing with Vegas, he will end up being a nice cheap addition for them. At worst, he simply will work as a depth player for them.
