Pittsburgh Penguins: Best Addition & Worst Subtraction of 2023 Offseason

The 2023-24 regular season is finally here, much to the delight of hockey fans. Due to this, we here at NHLTR are starting a series going over each team's best addition and worst subtraction of the summer.

In this latest edition of the series, let's look at the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Best Addition: Erik Karlsson

Erik Karlsson was the Penguins' top addition of the offseason, and it is not even close. He just had 100 points last season with the San Jose Sharks and should find success with the Pens once he gets used to their system. Yet, he is not their only notable addition, as they brought in several other quality players, too.

Worst Subtraction: Jason Zucker

Jason Zucker was one notable subtraction from their group this offseason. The skilled winger signed with the Arizona Coyotes and his scoring will be missed in their forward group. However, his price range proved to be too big for the Penguins' liking, thus leading to his change of scenery.
