Pittsburgh Penguins to Terminate Recent Addition's Contract

The Pittsburgh Penguins have placed Karel Plasek on unconditional waivers for the purposes of mutual contract termination.

The Penguins acquired Plasek from the Vancouver Canucks on Oct. 17 in the Jack Rathbone/Mark Friedman trade. Now, after just one day with the organization, Plasek is leaving the Pens and having his contract terminated.

With this news, it is quite likely that Plasek is signing overseas, as this contract termination is mutual between both parties.

It will be interesting to see where Plasek ends up signing from here, but do not be surprised if a return to the Czech Extraliga is on the way for him.
