Predators Lose Luke Schenn For A While With Injury
The Nashville Predators have taken a significant hit to their lineup as it was revealed that Luke Schenn would miss 4-6 weeks with a lower-body injury. He only played in one of the team's games this season and was set to be the defensive partner of Roman Josi, at least at the start of the season.
The Predators arguably had seven defensemen that should be playing every night, so it makes their lineup decisions a bit easier for the next month and a bit. Still, it is better to have options and be forced to make the tough decision than to have those options taken away. With seven viable defensemen, it created more competition and would likely result in better results due to certain defensemen wanting to stay in the lineup.
Schenn played the right side, so the Predators will have to work with Tyson Barrie, Dante Fabbro, and Alexandre Carrier for now. That is still a pretty good looking right side and the team is more defensively capable than most, but Schenn provides a defensive style unlike any of those three and it will be missed. The two best options the Predators can call up for now is Jordan Gross or Spencer Stastney.
