Sabres' Zach Benson Receives Bad Injury News
Buffalo Sabres rookie Zach Benson is set to miss some time, as the club announced that he is out week-to-week due to a lower-body injury.
Benson, 18, was drafted by the Sabres with the 13th overall pick of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft and immediately made the NHL squad after his first training camp. Since then, he has appeared in six games with the Sabres, posting two assists and a minus-1 rating.
This is not ideal news for Benson in more than one way. First, it is obviously never a good thing to get injured. However, this also came at an awful time for the youngster, as he is currently in his nine-game window, and he is looking to impress because of it. However, he will now need to make a big impact as soon as he returns if he hopes to stick with the club and burn the first year of his ELC.
Nevertheless, here's to hoping that Benson has a speedy recovery and suffers no setbacks in the process.
