Sam Gagner Officially Lands Contract

Sam Gagner has found a new home, as he has signed an AHL deal with the Bakersfield Condors. This was expected, as Chris Johnston reported late last week that Gagner would be signing with the Condors shortly. Now, it is official.

Gagner signed a professional tryout (PTO) contract with the Edmonton Oilers before training camp began but was unable to play due to injury. However, he is now good to go, and the Oilers are keeping him in their system with this AHL deal. If he impresses during this AHL deal, Gagner's deal could be converted into an NHL deal.

If Gagner can stay healthy and does well with the Condors, he would give the Oilers another potential option for their bottom six. Their fourth line could use a boost, and Gagner would give them that if playing at his best.

Gagner spent last season with the Winnipeg Jets, posting eight goals and 14 points in 48 games played.

Let's see if Gagner does well with the Condors and officially ends up joining the Oilers for his third stint with the club from here.
