Sharks Rumors: Alexander Barabanov Becoming Trade Candidate

According to NHL insider David Pagnotta, the San Jose Sharks could trade winger Alexander Barabanov if he is not signed to an extension by the trade deadline.

The Sharks are rebuilding and expected to be one of the worst teams in the NHL this season because of it. Due to this, if Barabanov is not inked to an extension, he would be a clear rental candidate for a playoff team looking to add to their middle six.

Barabanv has emerged as a solid point-producer in the NHL but especially when it comes to his passing. Due to this, if he is made available, there would be a ton of interest in the skilled forward.

We will need to wait and see what happens with Barabanov from here, but it is clear that he is one of the Sharks' trade candidates this season. Some early teams to watch include the New York Islanders, Detroit Red Wings, and Seattle Kraken.
