SJ Sharks Get Unfortunate Update On Captain Logan Couture
San Jose Sharks captain Logan Couture has yet to participate with his teammates this fall, and despite being "optimistic" about his health, the Sharks' star will not start the season with the team and there is, as yet, no timeline for his return.

Head coach David Quinn confirmed that Couture will remain out indefinitely — listed as "week to week" — due to the lower-body injury that he suffered this summer, before camp opened. And while the 34-year-old veteran center "has been showing signs of improvement", he's only been able to do some light skating away from the team thus far.
“It’s going to be some time, but we’re optimistic,” Quinn said. “We feel good about him moving forward.”
The 14-year veteran came into camp obviously not expecting this undisclosed injury to keep him out this long; he was, at the time that camp opened, hoping to play in Thursday's opener.
"He’s frustrated because he’s not out there just yet,” Quinn said. “But he understands it’s gonna take a little bit of time.”
Once he does come back, how long he stays in the Sharks lineup remains in question, as reports have named Couture as a "prime trade candidate" this season.
