Vegas Golden Knights Make Decision With Max Comtois
While speaking with reporters, Vegas Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy confirmed that Max Comtois has been released from his professional tryout (PTO) contract.
Comtois was hoping to earn himself a spot in the Golden Knights' bottom six with a strong camp. However, the once Anaheim Ducks' top prospect failed to do so and will now be looking to land a contract elsewhere.
Comtois, 24, was once one of the Ducks' most important players and even led the team in points in 2020-21. However, after back-to-back poor seasons, Comtois was not offered a qualifying offer from the Ducks and did not find a home in free agency.
Teams in need of some forward depth could consider taking a flier on Comtois. We will need to wait and see if he ends up getting signed by an NHL club from here. Teams having injury trouble at the beginning of the year could consider him.
