Video: Penguins' John Ludvig Knocked Out After Throwing Big Hit
Defenseman John Ludvig made his NHL debut last night (Oct. 24) for the Pittsburgh Penguins against the Dallas Stars. Unfortunately, his debut ended in a horrible fashion, as the 23-year-old threw a huge hit on Radek Faksa and appeared to have been knocked out by the contact. He needed help from his teammates to get off the ice and did not return to the game.

Moments like these are quite scary to witness, and we here at NHLTR hope that Ludvig is okay and can return to action soon.
Ludvig was claimed off of waivers by the Penguins from the Florida Panthers earlier this month and has served as an extra defenseman for the club. The 6-foot-1 defenseman spent all of last season with the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL), where he had three goals, 17 points, and 72 penalty minutes.
Alas, we will now need to wait for an update on Ludvig's condition from here.
