Washington Capitals Make Roster Moves
The Washington Capitals have made some roster moves. Goaltender Charlie Lindgren has been placed on injured reserve, while defenseman Hardy Haman Aktell has been called up to the NHL squad.
Lindgren has been sidelined with an undisclosed injury since earlier this week and was initially deemed as day-to-day. However, with this IR placement, there is a chance that he may miss a little more time than initially expected.
Haman Aktell, on the other hand, will be an intriguing player to pay attention to during this call-up. The 25-year-old defenseman is coming off a solid season in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), where he had 36 points in 51 games played. With that, he also scored a goal in two American Hockey League (AHL) games with the Hershey Bears so far this season.
Alas, we will now need to wait and see how long Lindgren ends up being sidelined for and how much of an impact Haman Aktell makes for the Caps during this call-up from here.
