2 Players Placed On Waivers
The waiver wire has two new players on it today (Nov. 23), as Matt Tomkins (Tampa Bay Lightning) and Vinni Lettieri (Minnesota Wild) are now both available for the taking.
This Tomkins news is significant, as it is an indicator that Lightning superstar goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy is ready to return for the team. Head coach Jon Cooper told reporters that there was a good chance that Vasilevskiy would return for Tampa Bay during their road trip, and now we have confirmation with this Tomkins roster move.
Tomkins, 29, was a feel-good story for Tampa Bay this season. The 2012 Chicago Blackhawks seventh-round pick finally made his NHL debut, appearing in three games and posting a 1-2-0 record.
As for Lettieri, the Minnesota native has appeared in 11 games this season, posting two goals and a minus-4 rating. Teams looking for a little more forward depth could consider the prospect of snagging him.
