3 Trade Destinations For Blackhawks' Corey Perry
Corey Perry has missed consecutive games for the Chicago Blackhawks and the team won't release anything on the situation. This has started speculation that there is an issue between the player and the team and a trade might be coming. If this is the case, these are three teams that should pursue the veteran immediately.
Edmonton Oilers
The Edmonton Oilers have to do something with their roster as they are six games under .500 and have very high expectations. They have a stretch like this seemingly every season, but there's a lot of eyes on it right now because it's the start of the season. Perry is the perfect bottom-six player for the Oilers right now and could come over in a package along with a goaltender to help the team as well. He is a leader and has won, something the Oilers have been close to doing the past couple of seasons in the playoffs.
Colorado Avalanche
The Colorado Avalanche are searching for some forward depth already due to the injuries they are dealing with and thinking that they are thin. This team had a real problem in the playoffs last season with lack of depth scoring. Perry has always come through and will be a menace around the net. He already has four goals and nine points in 16 games this season while playing under 15 minutes a game on one of the worst teams in the league.
Florida Panthers
The Florida Panthers have aspirations of going back to the Stanley Cup Final. To do that, they have to be clicking in all areas of the game. What looks a bit weak and in need of an upgrade is their depth at forward. This is where a gritty player who has been to the final multiple times comes in handy. Perry can not only produce, but get under the opponents' skin. The more players like that on the team the better. I'm sure the Panthers are looking for better options in the bottom-six than Jonah Gadjovich and Steven Lorentz.
